About NFC Business Card
A team NFC business card connects a physical card to a digital destination. The card body, artwork and encoded link form one part of the project; profile hosting, domain ownership and account administration form another. Define both before ordering so a printed name opens the intended profile and future updates have a clear owner.
PVC, wood and metal finishes offer different presentation and tap behavior. Choose the appearance with a finished sample, then check it on the phones your team expects to encounter. For unique member links, agree a row-by-row mapping between the printed identity, NFC URL and QR code before production.

Choose what happens after the tap
A web link, a contact download and a contact record stored on the chip are different experiences. Agree the flow and test it.

For a mixed-phone audience, start sample testing with a short HTTPS link and a printed QR fallback. Decide whether all cards share one destination or each person has a unique URL. Approve the final record before applying any irreversible write lock.

- Quantity by design, material and finish; front/back artwork and any printed names or QR codes.
- One shared URL or individual member URLs; identify your existing profile or redirect provider, if any.
- Who supplies and maintains profiles, domains and redirects. Confirm any software fees and account ownership separately in the quote.
- Who updates, disables or reassigns a link when a team member leaves, and what happens if the service changes.
- Delivery country and needed date, plus the phones and operating systems to include in sample testing.
Approve the complete sharing experience
- Match the printed identity, NFC destination and QR destination on each sample.
- Try the intended phone models and normal cases. For metal cards, check the marked tap side and position.
- Follow the notification, page load and contact-save steps. Check the QR fallback separately.
- Test a profile update through the chosen service without changing the card URL.
- Keep an approved sample and mapping revision. Agree the batch checks and packing order before production.
Agree the data mapping before sharing a production file
A useful layout is card_id, printed_name, destination_url, QR_content, artwork_version. For example, fictional card DEMO-001 could carry “Sample Member” and use https://example.test/team/demo-001 for both NFC and QR. This is a format example, not a live profile or proof of production testing. Use dummy rows for the initial discussion.

Frequently asked questions
Does the recipient need an app?
An NDEF HTTPS link can open through the normal browser flow on supported NFC phones without a dedicated card app. NFC must be available and enabled where required; a notification or unlock step may be needed. Directly encoded vCard data has different handling, so test it separately. Include a QR link for people who cannot use NFC.
Can I update the linked profile later?
Yes, if you control the linked web page or redirect service. Updating that destination can keep the encoded URL unchanged. A third-party service may have its own account, subscription and transfer rules. Agree who maintains the domain and profiles before ordering.
Does a card order include profile hosting or a subscription?
Define the online service separately from the physical card. Name your existing provider, or describe what you need, and confirm the hosting scope, software fees, account ownership and maintenance responsibility in writing. Do not assume these are included in the card price.
Which NTAG chip should I choose?
Choose using the final encoded record and the receiving devices. NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 have 144, 504 and 888 bytes of user memory respectively, with formatting overhead reducing the space for your content. A short URL often suits NTAG213; verify it with the encoding tool. Larger memory does not by itself improve phone compatibility.
Do metal NFC cards read the same way as PVC cards?
The card body and antenna design affect tap position and performance. Check the finished metal or hybrid sample on the intended phones and cases, and agree a clear tap mark. Include a QR fallback in the artwork.
How do team orders with individual data work?
Start with a dummy mapping row showing the card ID, printed name, destination URL, QR content and artwork version. Agree the required fields, sample checks and packing order before sending the final production file through an agreed channel.
How do you handle our encoding data and keys?
Under NDA. Keys, card numbers and encoding files are used only to produce your order, stored no longer than production requires, and deleted on request after delivery.
