In depth

About RFID / NFC Card

A contactless card is a chip and etched antenna laminated invisibly inside a printed CR80 body. The chip decision drives everything: MIFARE Classic is the workhorse for door access, DESFire EV-series adds AES security for transit and payment-adjacent schemes, NTAG makes the card phone-readable for tap-to-share, and UHF chips extend range to metres for gate and vehicle scenarios.

Buyers migrating between systems should note that security expectations have shifted — legacy CRYPTO1-based deployments are increasingly replaced by AES-based DESFire or app-level encoding. We encode diversified keys under NDA, print any artwork on the body, and ship encoded samples so your readers verify the cards before a full run.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

HF or UHF — which should I choose?

HF/NFC (13.56 MHz) for tap-distance interactions: phones, access readers, transit gates. UHF for multi-metre reads: parking, asset and inventory scans. Note that phones cannot read LF or UHF cards — only correctly encoded NFC (HF) cards work with iPhone / Android tap.

Can an NFC card open a URL on tap?

Yes — NTAG cards encoded with an NDEF URL or vCard open on both iPhone and Android without an app. LF and UHF cards cannot do this.

Which chip should I specify for security?

MIFARE Classic EV1 still serves low-risk legacy access, but its CRYPTO1 cipher is publicly broken — for anything protecting valuable assets specify MIFARE DESFire EV2/EV3 (AES) with diversified keys. Chip choice alone does not make a system secure: key generation, issuance, reader authentication and revocation matter as much, and regulated payment schemes have compliance requirements beyond any chip. We encode to your security spec, not the other way round.

Can you match cards to our existing reader fleet?

Yes — tell us the reader model or send one sample card; we confirm chip, protocol and encoding, then ship free encoded samples you verify on your own readers before bulk production.

How do you handle our keys and encoding data?

Under NDA. Keys, card numbers and encoding files are used only to produce your order, stored no longer than production requires, and deleted on request after delivery.

What minimum order does RFID / NFC Card carry?

500 pcs is the standard starting volume; configuration changes can shift it, so share your numbers and we will confirm.

How is RFID / NFC Card priced at volume?

Expect roughly $0.12–$0.70 per pc FOB Shenzhen before volume breaks — final pricing follows your exact spec and quantity.
